For the last 8 years, when I created cwiechert.com and HealthBlogger, I have tried to use a business model that kept my consulting fees low, and follow ups free, using a Linkshare program with Vitacost. It is also how I support my research time and keep HealthBlogger free, plus do Pro Bono work, from time to time.
I have no employees and everything is run by yours truly.
This has allowed me over the years to create links to the best products and allowed you to save money. This process generated a small residual for my time, from Vitacost to me.
You always pay the same price, no matter how you order from Vitacost. Vitacost over the years has changed the deal with Linkshare and recently has lowered the percentage in the Linkshare Program, and altered all my links, a real nightmare to fix. I have 8 years of blogs that contain links.
I also have trouble getting people to use my links, when ordering, just human nature at work. Not only that, but Vitacost continually e-mails their customers with the goal of having you order, direct with them, leaving me out of the Linkshare Program. I understand their corporate strategy, and I still love Vitacost, but I must compensate to make my practice viable, in this changing environment.
To solve this and stay in practice, I have changed my fees as follows.
New client consultations: $250.00 at time of consult, payable by check, PayPal, CCD or Debit Card. No paper billing.
Program follow ups and or direct e-mail or phone questions: $50.00, payable by check, PayPal, CCD or Debit Card. No paper billing.
