Do you take medications? Make sure they are worth it.

I have no problem with people taking medications. As long as they evaluate the risk-reward ratio of the drug in question, and the known side effects, to make sure they are worth taking. Many times a client will come to me and have symptoms, that when evaluated, are coming from a reaction to a particular drug they are taking.
The first thing I recommend is that they ask their doctor to re-evaluate the risk reward benefits and see if something else can be done to fix that reaction.

If you try natural things to correct a health issue, that in reality is a side effect of a drug you are taking, you are wasting your time.

Try this experiment. When was the last time you looked at the risk-reward benefits of the drugs you are taking?

Here is what to do. Click on this link, type in your medication and read what it does, and what the potential side effects of taking it are.

If you have any of those issues listed, talk with your doctor about alternatives.

Nobody cares more about your health than YOU do, so TAKE CHARGE OF IT.

You are never too old to become younger.

In Sixteen States and Counting: Drugs Kill More People than Auto Accidents...
For years, the predominant cause of injury-related deaths in the United States has been traffic accidents. However, recent data released by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS) indicates that 16 states now see more drug-related deaths than any other type of injury-related death and that number is rapidly growing. Some of the key findings in the report include a more than tripling of opioid analgesic-induced deaths between 1999 and 2006. In 2006, roughly 40 percent of all poisoning deaths were caused by opioid analgesics. In the 35 to 54 age group, these drugs are the leading cause of death overall in the United States. Fatal opioid analgesic-related overdose poisonings represent the fastest increasing segment of overall deaths caused by poisonings.

New Study: Vitamin D Doubles Colon Cancer Survival Rates...
One of the most deadly cancers in the United States is colon cancer. The Center for Disease Control has recently reported that in 2005, roughly 141,400 Americans received a diagnosis of colon cancer. The CDC also reported that 53,000 of those patients died the same year. It is believed that colon cancer can be completely prevented with various lifestyle adaptations. One of those crucial adaptations is increased amounts of vitamin D. A recent study shows that optimizing vitamin D has the ability to improve survival rates even of individuals that have already contracted the disease. That information has not been widely publicized, but the results of this study can be added to the volumes of studies that indicate that vitamin D produces incredible protection against a huge variety of cancers.

The Benefits of Fish Oil: VIDEO...
Omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFAs) are polyunsaturated "good" fats found in oil from coldwater fish such as salmon, mackerel, and tuna, or in seeds of flax, walnuts, hemp, and other plants. They're classified as "essential" because your body needs them for complete health yet cannot produce them on its own. They must be obtained through diet or supplementation. Omega-3 EFAs play an important part in cardiovascular wellness by helping to maintain healthy cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and heartbeat. Omega-3 EFAs may also contribute to neurological, or brain, health. Because omega-3 EFAs can be converted into anti-inflammatory substances (prostaglandins and leukotrines), they're also believed to provide joint support, promoting flexibility, mobility, and potential pain relief.

Link Examined Between Omega-3 Fatty Acid Levels and Biological Aging Marker in Patients With Coronary Heart Disease...
Patients with coronary heart disease who had higher omega-3 fatty acid blood levels had an associated lower rate of shortening of telomere length, a chromosome marker of biological aging, raising the possibility that these fatty acids may protect against cellular aging, according to a study in the January 20 issue of JAMA. Several studies have shown increased survival rates among individuals with high dietary intake of marine omega-3 fatty acids and established cardiovascular disease.

Promising Probiotic Treatment for Inflammatory Bowel Disease...
Bacteria that produce compounds to reduce inflammation and strengthen host defenses could be used to treat inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Such probiotic microbes could be the most successful treatment for IBD to date, as explained in a review published in the February issue of the Journal of Medical Microbiology.

What are Probiotics ?... VIDEO
Probiotics are friendly bacteria that help maintain a healthy gastrointestinal tract. Probiotics may also help promote good digestion, optimal nutrient absorbance from food, healthy immune function, and colon regularity.

Dietary Formula That Maintains Youthful Function Into Old Age...
Researchers at McMaster University have developed a cocktail of ingredients that forestalls major aspects of the aging process. The study found that a complex dietary supplement powerfully offsets this key symptom of ageing in old mice by increasing the activity of the cellular furnaces that supply energy -- or mitochondria -- and by reducing emissions from these furnaces -- or free radicals -- that are thought to be the basic cause of ageing itself.

Look and Feel Younger by Avoiding the Top Contributors to Aging, Part I...
In a general sense, premature aging means that outwardly the way you appear is older than it should be for your age, and inwardly the way you feel and the way your brain, bones, and the rest of your body functions is below par to what it should be for your age. Your appearance is inextricably linked to your "inside" health, of course, as is how long and how well you live. Therefore, taking the necessary steps to avoid premature aging is a crucial goal.
