Get the lead out and other metals and minerals that are shortening your life...

Besides taking antioxidants to control free radical damage in order to slow down aging and fight disease, research is now showing us that heavy metals and even excessive minerals like iron, copper and calcium accumulate as we get older and play free radical havoc on our cells. Especially the mitochondria of the cells, the power house of energy and longevity, but only if we protect them from DNA damage.

Some scientists estimate that an average person has 1000 times the amount of lead in their bones today than would be normal just 100 years ago. According to Dr. Garry Gordon, MD,DO,MD(H), an expert on metal detoxification and cardiovascular medicine, "lead makes mercury", another metal that we have high levels of today, "100 times more toxic. So the need for continual heavy metal detoxification exits for everyone hoping to achieve anything like optimal health and longevity."
Dr. Gordon says, "You may have headaches, insomnia, irritability, a low sex drive, tremors, mood problems, nausea, depression, memory difficulties, trouble concentrating, poor coordination, or even constipation." Even worse, information now exits that they are free radical and inflammation generators that can cause heart disease and cancer in some people.

There are natural compounds that can remove these metals and accumulated iron, copper, and calcium like EDTA and IP6. You might want to check them out. I personally take both of them on a daily basis.

Also in this blog, I have featured a video interview of Dr. Ignarro, who was a co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology in 1998 for his research into NO’s (Nitric Oxide) role as a signaling molecule.
Instead of drugs, Dr. Ignarro recommends exercise, dietary changes, C, and E, as well as the amino acids L-Arginine and L-Citrulline in his book... NO More Heart Disease: How Nitric Oxide Can Prevent--Even Reverse--Heart Disease and Stroke .

Enjoy this week's research studies and articles.

The Overlooked Cancer Cure From Japan...
Nature provides an anti-cancer molecule found in rice bran that exceeds the effectiveness and safety of most anti-cancer drugs. Yet it goes unutilized by modern medicine.
Most drugs are modeled after molecules found in nature. Nature’s molecules are then re-arranged so as to acquire a patent. Pharmaceutical companies can then justify the expense of conducting studies to prove the safety and efficacy of their pharmaceutical compounds. But frequently, nature cannot be improved upon. This is the case in regards to rice bran extract(IP6).

IP6 Shines Brightly as an Alternative Cancer Treatment and Preventive...
(NaturalNews) The anticancer effects of IP6 are turning out to be nothing short of astounding. Research is showing that besides reducing cell proliferation and increasing the differentiation of malignant cells, IP6 can often restore cancerous cells to normality.

Olive Oil: Which Type Is Best?...
ScienceDaily (Aug. 14, 2007) — Among cooking oils, olive oil is touted as one of the healthiest. Olive oil contains monounsaturated fat, which can lower total cholesterol and low-density lipoprotein (LDL or “bad”) cholesterol in the blood.

Low-Dose Mercury Exposure From Fillings, Vaccines and Fish Linked to Heart Disease...
(NaturalNews) In spite of the fact that mercury is routinely used in dental restorations and thimerosal, a preservative containing mercury commonly used in vaccines, an international team of researchers has warned in a press release that low-dose mercury exposure can damage the arteries, having a harmful effect on vascular function. According to The Scientific Information and News Service (Servicio de Información y Noticias Científicas - SINC), the researchers recently published the results of a study they conducted in the American Journal of Physiology-Heart and Circulatory Physiology. The purpose of the study, according to its authors, was to determine whether really low concentrations of mercury, administered over a protracted time period, "could have a prejudicial effect on vascular response."

Sugary Soft Drinks Linked To Increased Risk Of Gout In Men...
ScienceDaily (Feb. 1, 2008) — Consumption of sugar sweetened soft drinks and fructose is strongly associated with an increased risk of gout in men, finds a study published by the British Medical Journal.

New Potential Health Benefit Of Olive Oil For Peptic Ulcer Disease...
ScienceDaily (Feb. 14, 2007) — Already fabled for an array of health benefits, extra virgin olive oil — a centerpiece of the Mediterranean Diet — may have a new role in helping to prevent and treat Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infections, which cause millions of cases of gastritis and peptic ulcer disease each year, researchers in Spain report.

Root Canals Can Have Devastating Effects on Health...
(NaturalNews) Is it wise and prudent to have a root canal? There are issues with root canal therapy that everyone should know before deciding to have one. There has been recent research that presents valid proof of systemic illnesses that are a direct result from latent infections lingering in filled roots. These conclusions are based on research performed by Dr. Weston Price over a 25 year period in the beginning of the twentieth century. The research done by Dr. Weston Price discusses how root canals can cause bacteria to become trapped inside the structure of teeth. This can be the cause of many diseases that can be traced to one single source.

Adequate intake of vitamin D can prevent diabetes...
Washington, January 13: Diabetes can be prevented, and the disease's complications for those diagnosed with it reduced, through adequate intake of vitamin D, says a report. "Vitamin D has widespread benefits for our health and certain chronic diseases in particular. This article further substantiates the role of this nutrient in the prevention and management of glucose intolerance and diabetes," said Sue Penckofer, Ph.D., R.N., study co-author and professor, Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing.

Dr. Louis Ignarro Honored as 2008 American Heart Association Distinguished Scientist...
The AHA gives its annual Distinguished Scientist Award to outstanding scientists who have made significant contributions towards the advancement of understanding and prevention of cardiovascular disease and stroke. Dr. Ignarro's research was critical in the development of drugs and supplements that utilize Nitric Oxide (NO) as a vasodilator in order to reduce or prevent the occurrence of cardiovascular disease. His research has led to the development of drugs such as Viagra and Cialis as well as his own NO-based heart health regimen, as outlined in his 2005 bestseller NO More Heart Disease.

SPECIAL FEATURE...
Watch a 2 part video interview by Dr. Ignarro, who was a co-recipient of the Nobel Prize in Medicine or Physiology in 1998 for his research into NO’s (Nitric Oxide) role as a signaling molecule. Watch Dr. Ignarro explain how you can produce NO (Nitric Oxide) naturally and lower your blood presure without drugs and help prevent heart disease.
